Michael D. McCarty is a multicultural storyteller of African, African-American and International Folk tales, Historical tales, Stories of Science, Spiritual stories as well as stories of the brilliant and absolutely stupid things he has done in his life. His stories inform, educate, inspire and amuse. His storytelling style is energetic and enthusiastic.

Michael has traveled to many countries including: South Africa, Zimbabwe, India, China, Jamaica, Russia, Egypt, England, Malaysia, Korea…and his travels have reaped a harvest of tales that testify to the unity within the diversity of the human spirit…He LOVES his job!

Storytelling Workshops:

   Using folktales, historical & personal stories Michael’s stories will spark the imaginations and stimulate the grey matter
in a way that’s entertaining and engaging. Fully interactive, using questions to prod the minds of his audience; Michael’s presentations have captivated audiences around the country and around the world.

A Window to the World

Stories from different cultures and countries that give children a sense of the world in which we live.

Black history/Kwanzaa

Tales of and from Africa, stories of the struggles and triumphs of black People throughout the history of the Americas.

Halloween/Scary Stories

Children tend to love scary stories. They captivate their attention; even those who do not normally have long attention spans.

Drug Awareness

A program consisting of a variety of stories interspersed with questions to highlight the dangers of drug use.
