Wonderworld Puppets Programs and Information
Ric Morton has an extensive theatrical and special events career that spans more than 30 years and has been a professional puppeteer since 1974. He received training from Jim Henson and the Muppets and has appeared in the Muppet Movie, Muppet vision 3-D and in The Flintstones”. Julee has been involved in puppetry since the age of 12. She has a BA in Recreation and an Adult Teaching Credential in Puppetry, Recreation, and Theatre Arts. Julee taught puppetry at the Marianne Frostig Center, Los Angeles City College, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, the Foundation for the junior Blind and Alta Vista School in Redondo Beach. She and Ric have been performing together since 1983. Their programs feature hand and rod puppet characters performed on a large puppet stage or over head and even sometimes walk around.

Library Shows

Our library shows are designed to stimulate the child's interest in reading. We provide the programs we have listed and we always strive to customize our shows, following each summer's reading program theme. We encourage children to discover the wonders waiting for them in the pages of a book.

School Assembly Shows

Our School programs are designed to support California Education Standards, to be educational and to be entertaining.

Community Events

We offer programs from stage shows to walk around puppet theater.

Aesop’s Fables:

This Program features the story “The Race of the Tortoise and the Hare.” Our hand and rod puppets bring to life this traditional tale. The program incorporates live character voices, audience participation, and humor, the excitement builds to the "you had a goal and stuck to it" ending. The puppet show is followed by an in depth demonstration of puppet styles, performance technique, and ideas on how to make puppets, & puppet stages, at home or school, using recycled materials. Self-expression through an art form! Standards Connection: Language Arts, Performing Arts (theatre)

Animal Tails:

This fun and educational program follows thee development of a puppet show from selecting and adapting the story, building the puppets through the actual performance. The performance includes a comical adaptation of the Aesop’s Fable “Thee Race of the Tortoise and the Hare,” followed by examples for making puppets at home using recycled materials and items that can be found around the house.

Old Fashioned Puppet Melodrama The California Gold Rush –

In this presentation, the students will learn about the California Gold Rush through an authentically represented, 19th century Melodrama, with everyone cheering, for the hero, and booing, for the villain. A demonstration follows on the art of puppetry.

Walk Around Puppet Theater –

This program is great for fairs, festival and Community events that want roaming entertainment. Wonderworld Characters will stroll throughout your event, improvise with your guests, pose for pictures and give information on the day’s activities. General Character and Christmas Themed character are available.
