Artist Participation and Directory Listing fees for 2009:
    Children’s Directory - $50.00

These fees cover the cost of producing the showcase and directory. The fee provides you with the ability to attend the showcase, display your information on tables, hand out literature and meet with librarians. The fee DOES NOT guarantee you a showcase time slot. For artists that do not get a time slot we do make available, as time permits, 3 minute presentations that are determined at the event. Read the following information to understand how performers are chosen for the showcase.

    Eligibility For Showcasing Guidelines

Some of the basic guidelines used by Dream Shapers and the Inland Library Systems for choosing artists who will perform on these factors:

    1) Library Affordable Pricing.  The libraries have limited budgets so priority is given to affordable programs.
    2) Showcase Presentation, Directory Listing & Presentation Will Be The Same.  All artists guarantee that what they list and showcase will be what the libraries will receive from them if booked for a program. Artists will not demonstrate and list one show, and present something different.
    3) Price Guarantee.  All performers guarantee that the price listed in the directory for the program offered will be held consistent for summer programs.
    4) New Artists receive showcasing priority. However, if you are a new artist, be sure to provide all the new artist information as listed in this application
    5) “Tried and True” artists who did not performed on the 2008 showcase with affordable pricing
    6) “Tried and True” artists who did not performed on the 2008 showcase but whose show markedly different from what they demonstrated the year before and not the same show recast.
    7) Variety: we try to offer a wide variety of programs from Animals to Storytelling and from Music to Puppetry and place limitations on the number of artists each genre that we demonstrate.
    8) Artist Availability:  artists who provide programming to all areas that the Inland Empire Library System Libraries serve are given priority over those who go to limited areas.
    9) Artists Programming: extra considerations are given to artists who provide programs that:

    • Fit well with the summer reading theme
    • Provide programs that enhance library reading programs
    • Offer year round programming
    • Offer bilingual presentations.

    10) Only those artists listed in the directory will be allowed to attend the showcase.
    11) Out of State Artists must contact Ken Frawley at kenf@wesign.com before submitting application.
    12) Warranties: Your application will be processed for the directory with all care and effort. There are no expressed or written warranties or guarantees as to inclusion, accuracy or demonstration space given or agreed to by Dream Shapers with regards to any artist’s application, listing or showcase. All monies are non-refundable once you have been included in the directory. We will refund all monies to artists not included.

NEW FOR 2009 SHOWCASES: We will be making an online viewing of your directory listing(s) available by 12/5/08 so that you can review for any mistakes. We will not allow general changes to text and pricing (different from your application) but will fix any contact content or typos or mistakes based on your application. This will be open from 12/5 to 12/10 for artists to review and send us incorrect information changes. WE WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED AND IS THE SAME AS YOUR APPLICAITION.

You will receive an email or letter of confirmation email by 12/5/08, informing you of your scheduled performance time, or table top availability, where to park and more. Please contact us if you have not received this information by this date.

    Special Note:

“Walk On” Time Slots: On the day of, there will be a lottery available to artists who are 1) listed in the directory and are 2) in attendance for any additional time slots that may occur. These time slots are 3 minutes long and are a result of extra showcasing time that has become available. So even if you’re not slated be prepared for a short presentation.
