Dream Shapers had partnered with the Orange County Department of Education to provide schools throughout Orange County with a Showcase and Directory featuring California Educational Standards Based school programs along with family fun night arts experiences. This showcase we presented our first showcase in May of 2009 and had over 75 artists and 50 schools attend. We distributed a directory to all the elementary schools in Orange County through the Department of Education. We also created an Online Showcase of the artists who presented at our event.
Plan and develop 1st Storytelling Festival to be held each October at the Muckenthaller Cultural Center in Fullerton. The Muckenthaler is one of premier cultural arts facilities in Orange County. We are attempting to create an annual festival as a fundraiser for both organizations as well as to bring rich arts experiences to the community.
We have partnered with LA County Arts Commission to participate in their online directory and meetings to create a source for quality and standards-based programming to schools throughout Los Angeles County.
We participate with Los Angeles Public Library to establish and implemented an audition process for prequalifying artists, their programs and how well they meet the needs of LAPL. We helped to create an audition review form that is used to analyze each act and determines a performer’s inclusion on their Showcase and in their Directory. We also provide assessment/feedback information to artists both strengths and areas for improvement, in an effort to help their performance meet library guidelines.
